University of Turku – the first Finnish language university in the world - celebrates its 100th anniversary as it was founded in 1920 with the donations from the Finnish people. Today, the university motto “From a free people to free science” is engraved on the main building.
Turku School of Economics was established in 1950 by the local business community and merged with the University of Turku in 2010. Entrepreneurship is one of the focal research areas at the School. University of Turku profiles as an Entrepreneurial University.
